NUS Splash Down 09

NUS Splash Down for this year has came to and end on 12/9/09. The event was definitely a blast; making new friends, meeting old friends, swimming with a goal in mind to reach 100 laps, receiving more than enough sunburns for ourselves, swimming more than over 2000 laps altogether!!!

Most of us did it! To be able to swim up to 100 laps(5000m) was much more than just being physically fit, it was also a critical test of the mind. There were a few factors to kill while on the mission. The sun was a draining enemy to me. I got dehydrated in the water. Contradicting but true. While others said it was 'boring' to swim 100 laps aimlessly and gave up halfway? Well... the lists goes on...

Yet again, there were also the very mighty ones who completed the Swimathon with minimum effort lah. They're the Gods............ and the rest are the.............. Gods-to-be... :D

......and the best part after the mass swim? Getting awesome voluptuous goodie bags with more than enough gifts which we initially would have gotten with our no of lap points. Lots of snack packs, Mens Health Magazine, Coupons for Fabulous Tan, Facial bottle, Foot notepad, Splash Down Tee, etc...

Definitely a very fruitful and enriching new experience for 1st timers like the year 1s and 2s(some). Whereas for the seniors, its another familiar challenge and excitement to pursue under the sun and under the water :D

Personally, I'd be looking forward to more Splash Downs in the years to come!!! :DDD

I got most of the photos from Young Lifesavers.. Thanks to him for the pics :)

Still having the energy to take group photos after a loooongggg swim. Rock on!

Time waits for no man

Hey hey hey RP lifesaverz! :D

I just got back from Causeway Point with the 5 other lifesavers.. Its funny how we all managed to meet at the same place(and almost at the same time) without prior notice on where we all should meet each other. We just simply found each other outside 7-eleven at CWP, without contacting each other!? LOL.

Anyway 2 of us went to watch UP while the 4 others watched The Last House on the Left.
Well... the 6 of us watched 2 different movies.. Why didn't we just watched 1 movie together you may ask? Ask Cassandra when you see her ok!! hahahaha.. But cass we don't blame you... :) The ticket woman was just being annoying man!

Still, UP was a cute, funny and very very touching show too! Although its a bit unrealistic how a single old man could carry his big floating wooden house on a rope all by himself.
Actually I even teared a LIL watching the show.. Cannot cry too much, very embarrassing if people sees.. i cry over minor sensational stuffs... melodramatic i know.. XD

So later on.... Long Fei, Jin and Yong Kai went back to RP first, while Cass, Andy and myself went to the library to borrow some books. We used Andy's card to borrow the books simply because Cass and myself lost our library cards and our Ez-Link cards cannot be used due to some reasons.. I was upset when I couldn't borrow my book on Van Gogh and only had to settle with a Seventeen Mag after all the rummaging on Art Books... :(

Nevertheless, I had a great day with you guys even though it was short. :D

K, BIG NEWS TAKE NOTE!!!!!!

On Thursday we're organizing a movie cum shopping outing in town. Do come if you want, EVERYONE IS INVITED!!! G Force will be the movie we're planning to watch. I'm thinking we all should preen ourselves very nicely and parade the town on thurs. Since the holidays is here, we should have more time to gussy up our appearances yeah!! :DDD

Andy said there will be a mass conversation on MSN before thurs to talk about this outing. So.... more details will be revealed in the con :))) You can also comment at the end of this post if you have any queries dying to come out from your mouth..

Here's the movie trailer ladies and gents...

P.S: I cannot upload any pictures into blogger. Something wrong with this website.

A great simple day out

Hey there! Shout-out to all members of the planet earth! TGIF!!! TGIF!!!!!! May you all have a blessed and happy weekend ahead after all the previous tough weeks you've worked so hard for :) Major UTs, lifesaving competitions, dragging up your heavy bottoms for school and work and play, stressing your brains out to fork out money to pay your bills, etc...

We fellow RP lifesavers had our training as early as 10.30am today in the RP pool and Coach also came down to train with us as usual. Rope throw, swimming, diving, posing for photos in the pool, LS 123, and even a few games of water polo by the 'hunks' in our IG :). Well....... all went well except that we started training at 11 instead of the agreed time 10.30. LOL can't be helped.. Some of us were really shagged the day before yo!

All of us were freaking hungry after our training because many of us didn't have breakfast! Busy people to busy to have breakfast man...

We cabbed down to Jurong West and ate buffet at "Ri Ben Cun". (See, we don't even bother to take the public transport cos 1) too hungry 2) lazy.) If you're a non-chinese or a chinese who don't know hanyupinyin.. The 3 alien-look-alike words are actually the name of the Japanese restaurant.

That place was awesome! Good food, patient waiters and waitresses, lots of varieties of jap food for you to choose from.... Almost everything you would source for in a typical jap eating place. We gobbled down the food speedily at the beginning like there's no tomorrow.... and naturally slowed down our consumptions later on because our stomachs were starting to bulge up... got full. Being normal, well functioning human beings, we ate till we were drowsy and unable to get our arses up to leave the restaurant when we're done..... aww... ;)

So after everything ended, it was about 5 to 6 in the evening already. We spent the whole afternoon in the restaurant eating like one group of hungry ghosts. The receipt printed out was a darn long list of all our foods, everything cost $200+ in total. But its a buffet yeahhh so its worth it. Ha!

Shall end my long post here. Pictures for today, if any of you have, just upload it here or send it to me and I'll upload it. Thanks y'all!!

you're worth it.

dear all,

congratulations to the winners and well done team republic.
i'd like to say how proud i am of everyone during the still-water competition.
we made no fuss and we were no eyesore.
we took things in our stride and we gave it all we could.
we had plenty of setbacks but we carried on.

now, someone told me this: "you have it in you and you don't need a piece of metal to prove that."

the same goes out to everyone else. it is a tough fight but with each other, we'll make it through with awesome memories to keep.

train hard for open-waters and let's keep the faith.
